My name is Susan Germishuys, however at Safa I’m known as Mrs G. I’ve been a member of the PE team since 2016 and I’m very proud to be going into my seventh year at this amazing school.
I was born and brought up in Pretoria, South Africa and moved to Dubai in 2008 with my husband. I started teaching at Safa Community School the same year both our boys also started attending Safa. At the weekend I enjoy relaxing with my family and watching my children do sport. We love all things Avengers and Superheroes and love doing movie marathons during the holiday. My passion is dance, and this is something I have pursued since I was 3 years old. However, now a days because of my family’s busy schedule the only place I get the opportunity to bust out some dance moves is in the kitchen while cooking.
I graduated from Tshwane University of Technology, South Africa in 2006 with a Degree in Dance Teaching. During my studies I had the privilege of teaching students at Trans Oranje Deaf School to dance. While studying my degree I completed my teaching accreditation through the Royal Academy of Dance. Subsequently, I obtained a degree in Psychology from the University of South Africa in 2014 and a Post Graduate Certificate of Education from the University of Nottingham in 2015. At present I am in the process of completing my master’s degree in Psychology through University of Derby in the UK. My aim as a PE teacher is to instill in every student, I come across a lifelong love for exercise, fitness and a healthy lifestyle.
