I am very excited to be joining the Science department at Safa Community School. I am originally from Cork City, Ireland. I am a graduate of both University College Cork and University College Dublin where I received a BSc in Environmental Science and Ecology and a PGDE respectively.
I have been a resident of the UAE for seven years in the city of Al Ain. I enjoy travelling and have been fortunate enough to see a lot of interesting places during my time here. I have a passion for the natural world and wildlife and like to spend my time outside of school with my family and friends.
I love being able to teach the importance and relevance of Science to young people and take the pastoral aspects of education very seriously.
I have been a teacher of Science specialising in Biology for just over 10 years. I have experience working in the UK, Ireland and the UAE. I have experience teaching all 3 Sciences from Year 6 to GCSE as well as A-level Biology. I have also been fortunate enough to have held the role of House Master for 3 years and also have had experience as a Science Coordinator for Key Stages 4 and 5. I am a qualified Award Leader, Supervisor and Assessor for the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award and also have experience as an Award Coordinator.
