I have been a Secondary Mathematics teacher for 8 years: 6 years in Dubai and 2 years prior in London. I started teaching at the age of 21, as I have always had a passion for the profession, and as you can imagine I was only a few years older than the students I was teaching, which allowed me to have a positive and understanding relationship with all of my students. I have a BSc (Hons) In Mathematics from the University of Nottingham and a PGCE in Secondary Mathematics.
I truly believe that education is a lifelong journey and learning never ends. This zest for learning is currently allowing me to do my Masters in Education through distance learning, which I thoroughly enjoy. When I am not teaching you will find me planning or embarking on my travel journeys.
In my previous school I was Acting Head of Mathematics and a KS5 Coordinator. Through my years in teaching I have taken an active role in every department that I have been a part of and have taken on many responsibilities: KS3 Coordinator; early entry KS4 Coordinator; Numeracy Coordinator; IB Mathematics Coordinator and subject mentor for students and trainee teachers. This year at Safa I will be Head of MAGT.
