Shahida Islam

Hello, I am Mrs Shahida Islam and I have been teaching since 2016. I have been an integral part of the development of the Science Faculty at the school’s I have worked in as well as the Senior Leadership team. My goal as an educator is to ensure all students receive purposeful learning experiences with opportunities for personalised curriculums preparing them to become independent learners and world ready.

About Me

I am originally from London and have been living in Dubai with my husband and two children Arya and Adam since 2018. I have a BSc Hons degree in Biomedical Sciences and completed my PGCE as a Biology specialist at Kingston University. I have been fortunate enough while living in Dubai to be able to continue to develop my skills as a professional.

My Experience

I joined Safa Community School in 2021. I have taught GCSE Biology, Chemistry and Physics, BTEC Science, Applied science and A-level Biology. I have taught both the International and British curriculum. Prior to working at Safa, I have experience in training overseas teachers where I ran seminars at Roehampton University. I have also supported Newly Qualified Teachers with their teaching practice at the School’s I have worked in and have experience of being Head of Science and a Senior Leader of Teaching and Learning.
