Hello, my name is Sam Bell and I am part of the History department here at SCS.
One of my biggest achievements in life has to be reaching the peak of the world’s tallest free-standing mountain, Kilimanjaro, after a 4.5-day climb. Whilst challenging, the views of the sun rising from the summit were breath-taking! In my spare time, I enjoy completing escape rooms. As the name suggests, these involve groups ‘escaping’ from themed rooms within a given time limit by solving a series of puzzles, codes and riddles and even locating the occasional key! I am also an avid traveller and have enjoyed exploring what the UAE and surrounding countries have to offer over the last twelve months. I am very passionate about teaching and love being in the classroom, making a difference to the lives of young people. I’m looking forward to meeting all of our new students in the new academic year.
In 2014, I graduated from Leeds University, having completed my PGCE in Secondary History. I have since taught a range of Humanities subjects across KS3, 4 and 5 including History, Politics, Social Studies and Geography.
I joined Safa Community School as a History teacher in February 2022, moving from another school here in Dubai. Before this, I worked in two schools in East Yorkshire for 6 years in roles including Teacher of History, Head of History and Second in Humanities Faculty.
