I am really excited to welcome your child to 3RO for the new academic year at Safa Community School.
My name is Róisín O’ Mahony and I am from Cork in Ireland. I graduated from Mary Immaculate College, Limerick with a Bachelor of Education in 2013.
I have been teaching in the UAE for the last four years, two of which I taught in Al Ain. This is my third year at Safa and I have very much enjoyed being part of such a dynamic learning team.
I like to keep fit and healthy. Sport is a passion of mine and in my spare time, I love to play gaelic football and camogie. I also love classical music and play the violin. I played in an orchestra for 6 years and thoroughly enjoyed playing live music.
I have been teaching 9 years and have spent the last 4 years teaching in the UAE, with this being my third year at SCS where I have gained valuable experience of teaching students from a range of different cultures. Previously, I taught for 5 years at a bi-lingual school in Ireland. As well as teaching, I took on the role of Mentor teacher in which I advised and supported newly qualified teachers in their first year of teaching. My aim as a teacher is to create a safe, engaging and inclusive environment where each child is enabled to reach their full potential. I continually engage in professional development and will support your child to become an open-minded, independent thinker. I truly am looking forward to meeting you all as we begin our journey together in Year 3!
