Hello, my name is Rionach and I am from Ireland. I have been teaching in Dubai since 2018 and in I have been with SCS since 2020. I am delighted to be a part of the inclusion team.
I have lived and worked in the Middle East since 2016 and I am very proud to call Dubai my second home, a place full of exciting challenges and experiences. I have a huge interest in performance and musical theatre. I am particularly interested in using this creative medium to encourage children to express themselves and build confidence in my classroom. I love outdoor activities particularly hiking in the UAE , scuba diving and skiing. I am a keen traveller and love nothing more than an adventure! I consider myself to be an approachable, creative and caring teacher who wants every child to enjoy coming to school everyday with a love of learning.
I graduated from Queen’s University, Belfast in 2014 with a Bachelor of Education. Since then, I have been fortunate to teach Key Stage Two children in a variety of places such as Ireland, Belgium, London, Qatar and Dubai. My teaching philosophy is centred around my pupils being excited to come to school, engaged in their learning and aware of their potential for the future. I have taught in Year 4 at SCS since 2021 and am also a Primary Science Leader, so I can safely say that I am a familiar face within the SCS family.
