I am originally from Edinburgh in Scotland but have been living and teaching in the UAE for the past nine years. Throughout my years of teaching I have always forged very strong relationships with my students, parents and the teams I have worked in.
Teaching is my passion and as a role model practitioner I strive to create stimulating and exciting learning environments in which each individual can reach their full potential. I understand that differentiation is key to providing the personalised education each child deserves, and I highly value health and wellbeing and acknowledge the importance of happiness in my classroom. I believe in facilitating students to become confident individuals and creative thinkers to promote lifelong learning. I consider myself to be a very approachable, adaptable and positive person that enjoys a challenge. I love to travel and experience new cultures which I have managed to do lots of since moving here. In my spare time I enjoy keeping fit and have started taking part in triathlons, my biggest achievement to date is completing the Dubai 70.3 IronMan.
Over the past ten years, I have taught in four different schools, both in Scotland and in the UAE. I have had the pleasure of teaching in four diverse schools where I have met families from many different countries and cultures. In my previous school, I was Head of KS2 for two years and prior to that I was the Pastoral Leader for a year. I am very dedicated and committed to enabling every child who I am fortunate enough to teach to have the best possible learning experience. I am thrilled to be teaching in Year 1 this year and cannot wait to meet you and support you on your new learning journey.
