My name is Miss Smart and I am a proud South African who is new to Dubai. I love sport and movement and I am passionate about physical education and encouraging children to live healthy, active lives.
I was born and raised in South Africa and am proud to call it ‘home’. I was a competitive swimmer right through my schooling career and have a deep love and respect for the sport. I studied Sport Science at the University of Stellenbosch and later went on to complete my PGCE in order to combine my love for sport and education. I am fortunate to have been able to travel the world and look forward to adding more exciting travels to my itinerary in the years to come. I am passionate about functional fitness and being able to ‘move for life’ and hope that this passion is something I can instill in the students in my care.
I completed my undergraduate degree in Sport Science at the University of Stellenbosch and my postgraduate degree in Sport Management at the University of Cape Town. Throughout my time as a student I was fortunate to be able to coach swimming and field hockey at a school nearby which was the catalyst that led to me later pursuing my PGCE in Intermediate Phase teaching. I have been a qualified teacher since 2023 and taught at a small private school in White River, South Africa before moving over to Dubai at the end of 2023. I look forward to playing my part in nurturing the learners in my care at Safa and aim to instill a love for physical activity through my lessons and coaching sessions.
