My name is Ms. Kimberley Ball and I am excited to join the SCS family this year. As a new member of the Performing Arts department, I bring a diverse skillset and breadth of experience in all 3 art forms (Dance, Drama and Music).
I am an extremely passionate and committed Performing Arts teacher, and wholeheartedly appreciate the importance of this subject for professional skills development, and its significance in supporting learners with their social and emotional development. I strive to give learners 100% every lesson, enabling them to fully engage and express themselves with an underpinned deep, technical understanding. As a creative and innovative teacher, I endeavor to motivate learners to achieve their full potential in a supportive and inclusive environment. I value building positive relationships and appreciate each learner as an individual.
As a Performance Practitioner with experience in theatre, film and live entertainment, I trained in Performing Arts from a very young age. I completed the Certificate in Education at The University of Central Lancashire, and have been a qualified teacher for 7 years. Previously, I have worked as a Performing Arts teacher and Head of Year at Secondary Schools around North West England, and an ‘Outstanding’ alternate provision for learners with additional support needs. As an approved Foster Carer, I have experience working with children and young people both inside and outside of an educational setting, and realise the benefits of strong pastoral support in order to allow learners the opportunity to succeed. This will be my third academic year teaching in Dubai, having taught in another school previously. I have worked extensively as a Professional Performer, Vocal Coach, Stage Director, Choir Lead and Choreographer. In my spare time, I work as a professional singer and understand the importance of my own continued professional development within the Performing Arts industry, to maintain and develop my skill set to offer the best support to learners.
