Mathematics has always been a subject that I have had an affinity for, but most importantly, it was an area I found thoroughly enjoyable. When the opportunity arose to then teach Maths, I did not look back. After 10 years of teaching in and around London, I have decided that teaching abroad is the next steps in my journey and look forward to teaching at Safa Community School.

About Me

My academic and teaching career has all been based in and around London. I completed a BSc in Mathematics at Queen Mary University and for the last 5 years I have been teaching in a school that is situated in the borough that I grew up in. Maths for me has always been about the journey and I gain great satisfaction when any students reaches that ‘ah ha’ moment. Generally I am quite an active person, football and badminton being my chosen sports but enjoy any type of activity. I enjoy playing board games too, from the old school games like backgammon to the newer games like Settlers of Catan.

My Experience

As mentioned before I have been teaching for 10 years. In my previous school I took on numerous roles in the Maths department. I began as the KS4 Co-ordinator for Maths, then became the Second in Charge/KS4 Co-ordinator before finally being the Acting Head of Faculty for the last 2 years. As the main teacher of A level Maths at my previous school, I took pride in making the lessons more interactive and using every opportunity to generate discussions about the Maths. Ensuring the students always obtained the best out of lessons was always my priority and something I wish to continue at Safa Community School.
