I am from a small village in Ireland. I am the Head of science where I am responsible for the overall development and performance of the department.

About Me

I have worked in many different countries doing a variety of different jobs and gaining invaluable life experiences. My travelling highlight so far was the summer I spent working with teachers in Rajpura, India improving children’s access to quality education. I believe that science education should be a fun, exciting and memorable experience for both children and parents. My biggest passion in science education is inquiry-based learning. I believe that this can develop students’ critical thinking skills while also making it a fun and enjoyable experience.

I understand that every child is unique and they should be encouraged to use their individuality to explore and discover, enabling them to create endless learning opportunities.

My Experience

It will be my 5th year here in the UAE teaching. I have previously held the title of KS3 coordinator and then Head of Science in my last school. I am from the Republic of Ireland and studied in the University of Limerick where I earned a Bachelor of Education with science (Biology and Chemistry). Once qualified, I moved to the UK and worked there for 4 years, in Essex. During this time, I gained valuable knowledge and experience, which has equipped me with the skills to be a confident and enthusiastic teacher.
