My name is Lucy Allport and I am from South Yorkshire in England. I have been teaching in Dubai for the past two years and this will be my first year at Safa Community School teaching Psychology.
I graduated from the University of St Andrews with a degree in Psychology. Following this, I completed a PGCE in Secondary Mathematics at Sheffield Hallam University.
I am approachable and considerate to all I come into contact with, I always remain positive, thrive on a challenge and aspire to create supportive and conductive teaching environments which promotes responsibility for learning.
During my spare time, I love to swim, travel, spend time with friends and enjoy the sunshine. I have a passion for trying new activities and I recently completed my PADI Open Water Diver certification.
After qualifying as a full time teacher in 2018 I have had teaching experience in schools both in the UK and internationally here in the UAE. For the past two years in Dubai I have been teaching AQA GCSE and A Level Psychology, and have been responsible for leading GCSE Year 10 Psychology. In addition to this, I have also taught Mathematics at KS3 and KS4 and was appointed the lead for the Secondary Maths CENTURY Drive Team across KS3-KS4. Outside of the classroom I have had the opportunity to work with children from a variety of backgrounds and gained invaluable experience through volunteering at an orphanage within a local community in rural Southern India and working as a Youth Staff for Royal Caribbean International. This will be my first year teaching at Safa Community School and I am really looking forward to the new challenges and experiences that are to come.
