My name is Linda Marmion and I am from a little place in Ireland called Dundalk. I have been living in Dubai for the past thirteen years and I am extremely excited to begin my seventh year at Safa Community School.
One of the things I love about living in Dubai is the huge range of nationalities and cultures I am privileged to work with and learn from on a daily basis. I love celebrating my Irish roots and you’ll often see me wearing my green whenever I’m given the chance!
I am a very approachable, friendly person and my main priority as Assistant Head of Year 1 & 2 is to ensure that the children’s social and emotional wellbeing is at the root of every decision that we make here at Safa. I am very supportive and believe that parents, teachers and children should all work together to create a happy, caring, safe environment for our learners.
I love being a part of the Safa family and I am very ‘Proud to be Purple’.
I have been teaching across FS to Year 3 for the past 16 years and I was extremely lucky to begin my Safa journey as Head of Year 2 back in 2017. As Head of Year I was able to develop as a leader from within the Safa family. I taught in Year 2 for two years before starting my role as Assistant Head of Year 1-3. I am now focusing on Year 1 and 2 and this will be my fifth year as Assistant Head. I pride myself on knowing all the children across Years 1 and 2 and supporting the teachers and the parents so that we all work together to ensure that our students achieve to the best of their ability. I love to learn and have spent a lot of time over the last few years on my own professional development especially around the areas of wellbeing, mental health and safeguarding.
