I have been a Secondary Mathematics teacher for 8 years. I have previously taught in South Wales (where I did the graduate programme Teach First) and the North West of England for 5 years. I also did one year in the middle of my teaching career in another school in Dubai before I returned to Liverpool to get married.
Teaching was always my childhood dream and I believe it is a vocation which I thoroughly enjoy. To help students have a thirst and love of mathematics allows me to have a positive relationship with them and I look forward to building these relationships in Safa.
I have a Mathematics Degree (BSc Hons) from the University of Liverpool and a PGCE in Secondary Mathematics which I achieved through the Teach First Programme. I also have the National Professional Qualification of Middle Leadership.
Outside of the classroom I enjoy playing Netball, going to the gym, reading, spending time with family and friends, travelling, and enjoying the sunshine. I also love foreign films.
In my previous schools, I have had many different leadership roles. I have been Head of House, Assistant Director of Need (in charge of more able students), Head of Key Stage 4 Mathematics and my current role of Lead Practitioner of Mathematics. I love Teaching and Learning and being innovative in my teaching of Mathematics. I love teaching all aspects of Mathematics, but especially the Pure topics of A Level. My role at Safa is Head of Key Stage 4 Mathematics and Teaching and Learning Coach.
