I am very happy to be part of the inclusion team at Safa community, offering my experience and patience to the children in my care. As a lifelong learner every day is chance to learn something new!
Having grown up and studied in England, in 2006 I moved to Dubai in pursuit of new opportunities and experiences. My husband has over time established a successful Motor sport business and we have two sweet children who keep us both entertained and busy! I spent a number of years at home looking after them, the pull to return to education for both my own development and my professional capacity could not be ignored! I simply love the chance to be amongst the children, feel like I’m adding value, and be in the busy school environment. Being a part of the inclusion team feels like a very natural place for me to be, I am patient, supportive and curious about my learners.
I qualified with a Primary PGCE at Oxford Brookes university, and on arrival in Dubai in 2006 I joined an up and coming Preschool where I had a great opportunity to expand my experience and knowledge in early childhood education, particularly in the fields of Multilingualism and English as an additional language. Over my nine years tenure I predominantly worked with children aged 5-6years before stepping into a leadership role. More recently I have completed my National SENCO certificate with the University of Hertfordshire. I find professional development both energising and enlightening, the field of Inclusion and special educational needs is constantly evolving and I’m happy to have the chance to keep learning both from the team around me, our students and the short courses available.
