Hi, My name is Jelena and I am teaching Mandarin language at SCS. I am from Serbia and I obtained my Masters in Chinese Language and Literature at University of Belgrade.
I lived in China for several years working as a teacher and translator. During my 16 years in Dubai I have been also working as a piano teacher preparing students for their ABRSM and Trinity exams. I am married and have a 13 yrs old daughter who is also in SCS. During my spare time, I love to travel.
I started to teach in SCS in 2015 as a primary and secondary Mandarin teacher. When SCS got bigger, I focused my career on Secondary Education. I was working as an official translator for the Chinese Embassy in Serbia. I was also fortunate to be an official translator for the Beijing Olympic Games 2008. As a part of the ECA program, I am preparing students for the HSK Exam (International Chinese Exam). In past years, I was trying to pass the passion of traveling to our SCS Secondary students by organising and leading international school trips. I was also teaching BTEC Travel and Tourism is SCS for KS5 students. And yes, I am also a Mandarin IGCSE and GCSE Examiner.
