My name is Jason Roebuck, and I am the new Head of Biology at Safa Community School. Originally from the UK, I graduated with a BSc (Hons) degree in Biology, before completing a Postgraduate Certificate in Secondary Science at Cardiff University. Before teaching, I was an army officer in the British Armed Forces, where I deployed on military operations throughout the world.
An active person; I enjoy running, cycling, kayaking and the gym. I ran my first marathon in 2019 in Abu Dhabi and have completed a long distance walk through Spain and Italy. I have an international outlook on life, I am well-travelled, and I very much enjoy experiencing different cultures and lifestyles. My son is studying for a master’s degree at Cardiff University, and I am very much looking forward to him visiting Dubai.
As a teacher for over twelve years, I have taught in the UK independent, maintained, and international sector. I have taught across a wide range of curriculum models and examination boards at Key Stage 4 and 5. Recently moved from Abu Dhabi, where I was Head of Biology for two years. Outside of the classroom, my previous appointments include Housemaster, Officer Commanding Combined Cadet Force Army Section, DofE Bronze, Silver, and Gold Award, as well as running residential field trips and a World Challenge expedition.
