I am an Artist and Visual Art Educator from Ireland, where I studied Fine Art in one of Ireland’s leading Art Schools; Limerick School of Art & Design from 2008 – 2012. In 2012, I then set off travelling, exploring and living in various countries in the Southern Hemisphere.
I returned to Limerick School of Art & Design upon my return to Ireland in 2016, to study an MA in Art & Design Education, where I graduated top of my class. I have taught consistently, both in Ireland and the UAE, since graduating. I, thankfully, know I made the right career choice as I absolutely love my job and love anything Art, Craft & Design related, and particularly sharing this love with students!
I hope to teach internationally for the foreseeable future to gain as much curricula experience as possible, as I would love to go into Curriculum Development and Enrichment in my later career.
Including my teacher training, I have taught in Ireland for 4 years before moving to Dubai in August, 2019. I worked in The Sheffield Private School last year where I gained some extremely valuable experience running the whole Art Department, and now I embark on my second year at SCS under the guidance of Ms. Heskett and an amazing department. ECA contributions include our Art Ambassador programme, and I am also an Award Leader and Head of Marketing & Promotion for Safa’s Duke of Edinburgh International Award. Running competitions and incentives, exhibiting student work and creating opportunities for students to experience Art outside of the classroom are of huge value and importance to me, I can’t wait to continue sharing these experiences with the SCS family.
