My name is Hayley Martin and I am teacher from the United Kingdom. I am originally from Dorset and have worked internationally as a teacher for the past 17 years.
I have lived in the Middle East for 17 years. During my time living in Egypt, I was introduced to diving and snorkelling and now love to explore the local reefs whenever I am near the ocean. I am a keen traveller, having spent time exploring South East Asia, China and New Zealand. My next dream travel destination would be somewhere in South America. I also enjoy listening to a wide variety of live music, and will one day learn an instrument so that I can join in!
In the UK, I began teaching KS2 in a village school in the Oxfordshire countryside. My first international teaching post was in Egypt, where I spent seven years as Year Leader at a large British curriculum school in the outskirts of Cairo. I moved to Dubai ten years ago, where I was a founding member of staff at Victory Heights Primary School. I have worked as Year Leader for Foundation Stage 2 and Year 1, and more recently within the Inclusion department as Pastoral Leader, focusing on well-being and social emotional learning. I have have also spent many years as teacher governor for schools in the UK and in the UAE.
