Hello, my name is Giorgia Barnes and I am delighted to be joining the team at SCS for the new academic year. I would describe myself as a dedicated and creative practitioner who believes that there is no limit to what children can achieve. I am looking forward to welcoming your child soon!
I am from a small, seaside town called Southport. It is located in Merseyside, away from the hustle and bustle of the city in the North West of England. I have lived in Dubai for three years now and have thoroughly enjoyed meeting people from all over the world. As a child, I had a very positive experience at school which inspired me to become a teacher! In my spare time, I am a keen adventurer and take every opportunity to travel and experience new cultures. My other passions are swimming, reading and socialising with my friends.
I am extremely proud to have graduated from Edge Hill University with a first-class honours degree in Primary Education, specialising in both Mathematics and Early Years Practice. Since graduating, I have gained a wealth of experience of teaching across the Primary Curriculum. I am passionate about unlocking children’s potential through the power of positive thinking. I strongly believe this can be achieved through fostering a Growth Mindset approach, equipping pupils with the confidence and resilience to take responsibility for their own successes. I am committed to empowering children to take ownership of their learning and helping them to understand that mistakes are crucial for helping them to grow. I have been teaching for six years and I am very excited to be joining the team at Safa Community School.
