Hello, I’m Ms Howe and I am thrilled to be joining Safa Community School and be part of the Year 2 team. I am delighted to welcome your child to 2GH and look forward to a wonderful year ahead.
I am from England, from a town in Bedfordshire called Flitwick where I grew up with my parents, two younger sisters and our dog, Alfie. I went to university at Leeds Metropolitan University to study Primary Education and following university, lived in Milton Keynes (famous for it’s many roundabouts!). On becoming a teacher, I always knew it would take me overseas and have now lived in Dubai for the past five years with my husband and our young daughter, Elswyth.
I absolutely love food (both cooking and eating it!) and also enjoy travelling; even more so when the two are combined! I have visited over 40 countries, but there are still so many more places I would love to see. I love being active and trying new things, and since being in Dubai have enjoyed experiencing sandboarding, the Marina zipline, dune buggying in the desert, a hot air balloon and a skydive! Outside of school life I try to find time to relax and find yoga is a great way to focus and practice mindfulness.
I’ve wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember, and ever since my Year 10 work experience in a school, knew it was a career I would love. Every day in the classroom is new and exciting, no two days are the same which is what I love about my job. I have taught for over ten years now, across a range of year groups in the Primary phase. My classroom is a fun and happy place to learn, where we challenge ourselves and enjoy discovering new things. I promote a safe and positive learning environment where every child’s ideas and opinions are valued and encourage them to confidently express themselves. Every child should leave each year having created wonderful memories and experiences, and I feel privileged to be part of supporting that journey.
