My name is Gemma Healy and I have lived and worked in the UAE for 4 years and before this, lived back home in Greystones, Ireland. I specialise in Early Childhood Education and consider it an honour to be involved in a child’s first experiences of school and strive to make this an enjoyable and engaging time for our youngest learners.
Outside of school, I love to travel with my husband as we create a bucket list every year of places we would like to explore. I enjoy living in the UAE, the weather and lifestyle is a big contrast to Ireland. There is always a new part of the region to experience and many different cultures to learn about.
The entire Safa team and I are delighted to welcome you to visit and become a part of this happy community.
I am very passionate about early childhood education and over the past 12 years, I have held a variety of positions in the early years sector. These include Class Teacher, Nursery Director, Head of Early Years, Early Intervention Project Leader, Family Liaison Officer and Early Childhood Education Lecturer. Lifelong – learning and encouraging a positive attitude towards education has been an interest of mine for many years which has led to independent research on school readiness, attitudes towards school and play – based learning. The child is always at the centre of my practice and supporting teachers and families in ensuring every child has the best start in life is a privilege.
