Dawn Wearing

My name is Dawn Wearing and I am a very proud to have been part of Safa family since 2016. I am the Assistant Head of Years 5 & 6 and my role is to provide the best pastoral care and support for all of our students.

About Me

During my time at SCS I have been fortunate to have experienced teaching across Key Stage 2 leading in a number of curriculum areas as well as year groups. I have always been passionate about the wellbeing of our students and ensure this is at the centre of everything I do. I consider myself to be a very adaptable, approachable and positive person, who loves new challenges. I strive to ensure that every child achieves their full potential, by providing the highest quality of teaching, learning and pastoral support. I continuously develop myself professionally, and I pride myself in knowing each individual student across Years 5 & 6. I love working alongside our students, parents and teachers in order to create a happy, safe and caring environment for all of our Safa learners.

My Experience

I have been extremely lucky to have developed my leadership experience since joining Safa in 2016 through the position of Head of Year 6, whilst working closely with the leadership team to ensure the positive experiences for all of our children. As a leader of mathematics during my time at Safa it has allowed me to work closely with staff and students to develop the curriculum across the Primary phase, as well as whole school improvement. Both roles have enabled me to expand my leadership skills, which have had a positive impact on both staff and students, from a curriculum and pastoral level. I constantly continue to develop myself professionally, most recently in the areas of wellbeing, mental health and safeguarding.
