I graduated from the University of Exeter with a BCs Hons Degree in Business IT before going on to complete my PGCE at the University of Bath in 2005.
I believe that we are living in an ever increasing digital world and it is important that young people today are not only aware of the impact it is having on their daily lives but also have the skills to be able to control it and develop it. Being an informed consumer of technology is vital as we invite more advanced technology into every aspect of our lives. I genuinely believe that a students education is precious and it is vital that they reach their potential each and every day. Education is the foundation for everything they go on to achieve.
I started my teaching career with my PGCE at the University of Bath in 2005, my first teaching role was in Plymouth, UK where I gained a real understanding of the UK curriculum and how technology can support and challenge all students. I moved to Abu Dhabi in September 2011 where I was part of the opening of Al Bateen Academy as Head of IT & Computing responsibility for establishing the curriculum, launching GCSEs A Levels and the International Baccalaureate programme. Al Bateen Academy went on to become the UAEs first school ever to be graded Outstanding by school inspectors.
