I am delighted to be able to welcome your child to Year 6 for the new academic year at SCS.
I graduated from Northampton University where I studied a BA Hons in Primary Education and Teaching. After graduating, I returned home to a Primary School I volunteered at during my A-Levels to teach for 2 years. I then began my adventure in Dubai and have been fortunate to be living here for 7 years.
Living in Dubai enables me to focus on many of my other interests away from teaching. All of my life I have enjoyed playing a wide variety of sports to different levels. I am currently playing football, tennis and running and can look back on a wonderful 1 game career in Gaelic football before realising it isn’t for me!
Away from sports I spend most of my downtime reading or listening to music. I particularly enjoy books by Jeffrey Archer and any music from well before my time.
From an early age I had always wanted to be a teacher. I began volunteering at the age of 15 and this continued until I went to university. I believe that this passion for teaching comes across in my classroom. I try to create an environment in which the children are confident to take risks and become self motivated to find the answers. Part of my teaching background has been focused on integrating technology across the curriculum. By looking at lessons differently and from a child’s perspective, it really allows progress and enjoyment in the classroom. I cannot wait to start our adventure together in Year 6.
