Hello, my name is Anthony Kelleher I was born and raised in the wonderful county of North Yorkshire in England. I taught for 4 years in the UK and I have spent 6 years teaching in Dubai and I’ve loved every second of it. This will be my third year here at Safa Community School.
As well as enjoying teaching, I have also enjoyed travelling to the other Emirates in the UAE and other countries all over the world. I love to be active! My favourite activities are jet skiing, volleyball, laser tag, snorkeling, trampolining and most of all football!
In my classroom, I aspire to teach lessons that are engaging, fun and inspire critical thinking skills that allow the children the opportunity to apply their learning in everyday situations. I have a child centered approach to teaching and I believe that children should take an active role and have ownership of their learning. I cannot wait to be part of your child’s learning journey this year.
I graduated from Leeds University in 2013 with a Sports Development degree, experience in schools throughout my degree inspired me to complete a PGCE from Birmingham University in 2016. I completed 2 Years of teaching in an Outstanding school in Birmingham.
I have experience teaching in both key stages with a range of demographics. I am extremely excited by the prospect of meeting new faces and continuing our journey for those I have already met.
I’m very much looking forward to the year ahead.
