I am an experienced English teacher of 5 years having taught in Qatar and Saudi Arabia, specialising in KS3 with a Bachelors degree in Sports Science and PGCE in Secondary English.
Originally from South Africa, my sporting background and physical activity play a big part in my day-to-day lifestyle, and I’m an enthusiastic traveller during the holidays.
My philosophy in the classroom is to make the content as relatable and relevant for the students and to see the real-world applications of what we do. I try to engage the students in problem-solving to foster an independent mentality and approach.
I also co-head the Model United Nations club, which will become a fulltime ECA next year.
I have been teaching for five years in Qatar, Saudi Arabia and now Dubai. I specialise in key stage three.
I have been at Safa for 3 years and am excited to now be moving into my fourth.
Before moving to Safa I taught English to KS3 in Qatar before moving to Saudi Arabia where I took up a head of department role at a college.
I am a big fitness enthusiast always trying out new activities and sporting codes. Currently, I spend my free time on Crossfit, boxing, swimming and callisthenics.
