I am an experienced Science Teacher of 12 years and Specialist in Biology with a BSc in Sports Science, PGCE in Science with M.Ed, Child Protection level one, two and three qualifications, coaching colleagues qualifications, previous facilitator of the Outstanding Teaching Programme and have successfully completed the National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership (NPQSL). As the Assistant Head for Key Stage 4, I oversee the academic and pastoral needs for all students in Year 10 and Year 11 and have had the privilege of watching our examination students grow into young successful adults for the last 6 years.
As Head of Key Stage 4, I am passionate about driving standards and excellence at BTEC & GCSE, ensuring all students receive personalised pathways that compliment a range of student abilities and skills. My philosophy as a Biology teacher is to help students form connections and feel the biological world that surrounds them, from the smallest of molecules to the largest of ecosystems. My philosophy as a leader is to help students identify synoptic links between concepts in a range of subjects which allows for deeper knowledge, comprehension, application and evaluation in all lessons. I have been in Dubai since 2017 and I am passionate about Athletics and Dance. In my spare time I dance Ballroom and Latin for a Dance Company in Dubai.
I have taught at Safa Community School since 2017. Since my time at SCS I have had the privilege of developing Key Stage 4 and its curriculum, assessment, personalised pathways and achieving academic excellence for students of all abilities. In my previous school of six years in Warwickshire, I was the assistant Head of Science, KS4 Coordinator and PGCE mentor for NQTs. I was also selected for the Outstanding Teacher programme (OTP) where I learned to train and facilitate outstanding teachers throughout Warwickshire.
